What are you so angry kitty? If you have times when anger is a problem in your life here is an interesting thought:

The only reason that you are angry is because you are afraid that the situation will happen again.
Nancy Matthews.

Does this ring a bell in your heart? Do you think that this could be true?

If you stop and think about the last time you flew into a rage (ok, it was just a little rage), what was it that sparked that reaction?

Were you afraid that the situation might repeat itself?

There are many things in life that really ARE beyond your control, but at the same time there is one thing that IS within your control but you often don’t take charge of.

What is it that you and I don’t always take full charge of? Our minds.

  • You decide whether the foundations in your mind are built on fear or on faith.
  • Then you activate this decision with your daily actions and habits.
  • The default decision is always negative. This means that if you don’t take charge of your mind, and deliberately build a foundation of faith, then the default foundation will be fear.
When a reaction of anger shows up in your life,
it is often (if not always) a warning.

This reaction may be letting you know that there is some fear in your life that you need to drive out. Now not every outburst of anger is 100% related to fear, but many times it is. Hence it is always good to stop and take notice of what caused the outburst and face any fear you might find in your heart.

So how do you deal with fear?

The best way to deal with any negative emotion is to displace it. When you take a glass full of water and drop a stone into that glass much of the water spills over the edge right? The stone displaced much of the water.

In the same way you displace fear in your life by focusing on faith.

Build your faith muscle:

  1. If you read the Bible, make sure that you maintain a daily habit of reading at least a chapter a day.
  2. Spend time thinking about what you read (and praying over it). Take some verses that stood out to you and turn them into affirmations. Speak those affirmations out loud.
  3. Read at least 10 pages of a good non fictional book every day. Make notes from what you read. Include in your notes some ideas and plans to apply what you read to your life.
  4. Listen to a good teaching cd or mp3 turn your focus towards the possibilities you have in your life.
  5. Make an effort every day to focus on solutions whenever you face a challenge.

When you deal with any fear in your life by displacing it you will more than likely be amazed to discover that anger also has ceased to be a problem.
