25 Sep 2010 Natural Cure For An Unnatural Problem
 |  Topic: Health  | Tags: , , , ,  | 3 Comments

GingerA few days ago a lingering migraine moved me to try out some drastic natural remedies.

Migraines have been a problem over the years, but in more recent years they are fewer between, and often can be cured by extra hydration.

An extra few glasses of water in the morning most often took care of a migraine trying to overcome me. Migraines, like any sickness is not a natural problem.

You and I were not born to be sick,
we were born to live life in abundance and that includes abundance of health. This is why there IS a cure for anything growing somewhere on this earth, I am convinced of that!

We were born to be overcomers!
This means that there sometimes IS a battle, but we win!

However, last week the 2 glasses of water cure did not work. In fact nothing worked, not even the pain killers that I occasionally use to calm an extra stubborn pain. So I decided that the problem had to be an infection from something I ate.

GarlicA jumbo garlic was sitting near the fruit bowl, so 3/4 of it got cut up and ground in the blender together with apple cider vinegar and a little olive oil. That makes a garlic butter. (Actual recipe is on my sister’s blog here). I ate that throughout the day with some crackers.

Garlic is known to be a natural anti-biotic.

Next I took a big clump of ginger root, boiled it and then put it into the blender. I was determined to get as much of the actual ginger into my system as possible. I did put that liquid through a sieve and then poured it into a jar and refrigerated it.

Next I boiled some organic ginger/lemongrass tea I had found in the natural food market (Central Market) and steeped it well to make sure all of the goodness went into the liquid. That was added to the ginger tea.

Ginger is known to be good for digestion and nausea.

Throughout the day I alternated one glass of water, one glass of tea as well as munching on some crackers with a generous spread of the garlic butter.

The next morning the migraine was 90% gone. By lunchtime that day it was completely gone and I felt great!

My daily declaration: I am getting healthier by the second

During the 25 plus years spent in Mexico, I have picked up many natural remedies that have worked for me. However please do consult your doctor in the event that you are noticing pain or physical problems.

30 Jul 2010 How Fresh Is Your Vision?

Today I took a stroll along the Riverwalk in San Antonio after work. Just a few buildings down from the place of my work there is a fountain.

As I stopped to watch and listen to the gushing water a thought struck me.
What was this thought?

New Zealand riverWater is purified by movement right? I remember watching fast flowing rivers and waterfalls in New Zealand. I also remember my mother often telling me that flowing water purifies itself when we would go out on picnics by the rivers.

BUT: when a river turns into a tributary and the water is trapped, what happens?

It stagnates and finally stinks no?

Stagnated water smells. Flowing, moving water stays pure and fresh.

Let’s compare this to your vision. (I am trusting you DO have a vision right? – If not take a look at these articles about Life Purpose which will help you discover your vision in life).

Is your vision fresh?
If it is not, perhaps it is because something in you has stopped, and your vision is stagnating.

What can you do to reactive your vision?

  • Do you have your vision written down? Remember there is an interesting vision in the Bible in Habakkuk 2:2-3 where we are told to write the vision down and make it plain.
  • Are you reading the right books, watching the right videos and listening to the right mp3s or CDs? A daily habit of personal development and focus is essential to your dreams and your vision.
  • Do you have a plan of action? Perhaps you have long term plans? Do you also have short term plans?
  • Have you become discouraged because you see no immediate fruit? Remember a seed takes time to grow into a plant. If the seed is that of a tree it will take even longer, but with the right nurturing, it WILL grow. Meanwhile make sure to “stop and smell the roses” along the way.
  • When you begin to cross items off of your plan of action because they are completed, reward yourself! This will encourage you to continue on with your pursuit.

JillAre you keeping your vision fresh? Is the river of your life flowing, or has it stagnated?
