11 Aug 2010 Is Your Life Purpose A Blurr?

Blurred photoNote: This photo was deliberately blurred to remind you what happens when you are out of focus.

The scene just does not look right, correct?

But what about your life focus? Is it like this photo? Or is it nice and sharp?

Let’s take a moment to consider what would happen in your life and mine if our life vision is not clear and focused:

1. If you are not focused on where you are going in life, how can you set appropriate goals and strategies to get there? An interesting question no?

Goals and strategies are very important, BUT before you create the road map you need to define your destination.

  • Where are you going in life?
  • What is your why? (link leads to a CD). (Your life passion).

2. If you are not clear on your why (your life purpose), how do you know which direction to walk in? This is why so many people are simply going around in circles. They have no vision.

I am sure you know what dog paddling is right? It is simply beating the water to stay afloat, but going nowhere.

All the energy is used up in simply keeping your head above water.

How many people do you know who are living life in this way? But this is NOT for you! You are a champion!

Do make sure you take some time to make sure you have a clear vision of your WHY in life. (This book and tape is a GREAT practical resource that will help you to discover your why).

3. How will you recognize your life purpose
when you reach it, if you don’t know what it looks like?

When a photo is blurred it is often hard to even see what it is right? If your life purpose and passion is not clear (your why), do you think you would recognize it when you reach it?

Today’s questions:

  • Is your why (your life purpose and passion) crystal clear in your mind?
  • Are you focused on creating strategies and plans to fulfill your why?
  • Are you moving forward each and every day towards achieving your life goals? (You can only successfully do that when you have a clear vision of your why.

Action:

  • Take some time to make sure your why is crystal clear in your mind.
  • Visualize your goals and dreams both in your mind AND in your surroundings (dream or vision board).
  • Take a step forward EVERY day and you WILL reach your dreams!

A favorite quote from a great man of God, Oral Roberts:

You can’t go under for going over!

JillIs your vision sharp today? Or do you need to focus your lens?

19 May 2010 Lack of Vision Will Hinder Your Dreams

Setting GoalsYesterday we considered three negative influences that everyone must contend with during their lives. They were: negative words, fear and lack of forgiveness. If you and I do not confront those influences and win over them, our dreams will be hindered.

There are at least two more major confrontations that you will have to deal with throughout your life. Again, you need to confront them and conquer them to clear a smoother path for you to pursue your dreams and goals in life.

These two are: lack of vision and negative emotional attachments. Today we will take a look at:

Lack Of Vision

Jim Rohn used to say:

If you don’t know where you are going, how do you know you have arrived when you get there?

Dr Mike Murdock is quoted as saying:

If you do not have a vision, your mind will replay your past.

In chapter 29:18, in the greatest book of Wisdom that exists (Proverbs in the Bible) we find these words:

Where there is no vision the people perish.

You might be thinking: “If I have dreams of course I have a vision”.

Not necessarily. How many of your dreams are simply “wishful thinking”, yet perhaps you are claiming these day dreams as being a part of the passion and vision for your life.

A true vision is turned into goals and a daily plan of action (strategy). In fact these are the steps to turn any dream (that you REALLY want to reach) into a reality.

Yes YOU can make your dreams come true. How?

  1. Turn your dreams into goals. Break your goals down into short term goals and long term goals.
  2. Create a plan of action.
  3. Act every day. Make sure that every day you take at least one step that follows your plan of action.
Follow this plan and your dreams WILL come true!

Do you have a vision? Or are your dreams simply “day dreams” or “wishful thinking”?
