There is not a successful person on this planet who has not tasted failure many many times.

Some millionaires were forced to declare bankruptcy and not just once on their journey to success.

And of course we have the example of Edison who “failed” almost 1000 times before he reached the success he was seeking. He never looked at anything that did not work as a “failure”. They were all discoveries of things that did not work.

The other day I went to my favorite local Asian buffet for lunch. Of course there is always a fortune cookie that comes with the bill. I pulled out the little piece of paper to find an interesting inscription:

Good people are good because they’ve come to wisdom through failure.

Now that is profound, yet so true. But there is another truth here. They CHOOSE to use their failure to come to this wisdom.

Failure can make you bitter or better. The choice is yours.

You can use failure to succeed in life and become a wiser, better person or you can let failure use you and throw you into the pit of excuses and regrets. The choices is yours!

It was Henry Ford who said:
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

I have a challenge for you today
What are YOU doing with the failures in your life?

I am involved in a 210 Day Affirmation Challenge with Lifestyle Freedom Club

One of the affirmations is:
I am making Miracles out of my past Mistakes.

I like that!!

Are you up for this challenge?
Are you making miracles out of your past mistakes? Or are you making you making excuses of your past mistakes? The choice is yours!

Take a look at the picture I used today. This guy sat down and accepted failure so close to the goal! How many times do people give up JUST before reaching success?

Don’t let that person be you!

Have you ever bought a book, a course or attended a seminar that promised you some drastic change in your life or business in the next 30 days, or 90 days?

You enthusiastically bought the book, attended the seminar or listened to all of the mp3s, and at the end of 30 or 90 days you found yourself in the exact same place as you were at the beginning.

What happened?
That’s the problem. Nothing happened because you did virtually nothing.

Success does not come magically to a select few.
No, it is not magic, it is not “destiny” in the sense that “it was meant to be” or “it was not meant to be”.

It is a result of your decisions, determination, discipline and dedication to your vision. In fact true success starts with who you are which is demonstrated by what you do!

You will hear John Di Lemme often repeat this formula:

Decision plus action = results

All too often we make a decision, but forget the action, at least after the first week.

I was close to a lovely German family in Mexico (many members are now waiting for us in heaven), and Gertrudes, the mother, would often say: “El interés tiene pies” (Interest has feet, or in other words, if you are REALLY interested in something you will ACT on it).

Today I read, well actually devoured, an article on Darren Hardy’s blog:
How to Actually Improve From Self Improvement Materials

Darren is the publisher of the Success Magazine . I highly recommend that you click here right now and read (and devour) this article (AND subscribe to the Success Magazine while you are there).

But don’t stop at reading and rereading!

Take this article and make an action plan tailor made for YOU.

Decide which action step you can take today.

Take it today!

Remember: El interés tiene pies! (If you really want to change and grow in your personal life and your business, you will take action now!)

Why would anyone in their right mind sabotage themselves?

This is a good question! Why WOULD you. Why WOULD I?

But all too often it happens just as you finally begin to see some results for your labors. You are just beginning to see your dream come true. Then WHAM, something happens to derail your progress and everything seems to fall to pieces.

What happened? Was it fate at work?
No, it was probably you at work? WHAT??

Yes, you and I do not really realize the power that our thoughts have over our lives.

What happened is that subconsciously you:

Don’t feel worthy of the success you were about to achieve.

Feel guilty for something, and consequently don’t feel you deserve this success.

Are afraid of success, of change or both. Success will separate you from much of your “old life” AND many of your friends. This can be a fearful thing.

These mindsets that are buried in your subconscious mind will jump out and stop you from achieving:

What you don’t think you are worthy of.

What you don’t think you deserve because you did something you feel guilty about.

A lifestyle you want but are afraid of. (for the reasons mentioned above).

How crazy is that?

How to stop sabotaging yourself

The first thing to do is to recognize that this is happening.

Now honestly ask yourself: Do I FEEL worthy of achieving my dreams?

Do I feel guilty about something. Could it be that I am punishing myself?
If you find this to be true, it is time to forgive yourself. It is so often easier to forgive others than it is forgive yourself. However this is a VERY important step.

Eliminate fear by making a decision to train your mind with FAITH.

Check out my articles Are You Building A Mindset Of Faith or a Mindset Of Fear? and Destroying Negative Imaginations Called Fear for more about how to train your mind with FAITH.
