04 Sep 2010 Mark Spitz – Today In History – Sept 4, 1972

Mark SpitzToday, Sept 4th, 1972 Mark Spitz added a 7th gold medal to his collection of gold medals he won at the Summer Olympics in Munich.

Not only did he achieve this, but he also broke 4 world records in various areas of swimming at the same games.

Mark actually broke 33 world records during his swimming career.

  • It is good to honor others for their achievements.
  • It is also good to look at their lives and be inspired to do more in our own lives.
  • It is even good to learn from these outstanding achievers, studying their lives to discover their secrets to success.

What is NOT good?

Do not try to copy their pursuits.
Pursue YOUR own dream. You have a unique dream and life purpose that no one else can fulfill. Don’t leave a gap (that is your size) in this world. Fill it with YOUR success.

Do not try to be like them.
You do not need to copy someone else. You not only have a unique purpose in life but YOU yourself are unique. There is no one else like you. So do not ruin yourself by trying to be a clone of someone else.

Yes, be inspired by others.

  • You can learn strategies and ideas from others.
  • You should apply and adapt these strategies to achieve YOUR dreams and YOUR life purpose. Also seek to pursure YOUR dreams and life purpose.

Today’s thought is:
You should honor others yes, but ALSO it is VERY important to honor YOUR dream and life purpose.

JillYOUR life purpose and dreams are to be YOUR main focus. Don’t leave a gap in this world, your size!

11 Aug 2010 Is Your Life Purpose A Blurr?
 |  Topic: Life Purpose  | Tags: , , , , ,  | 2 Comments

Blurred photoNote: This photo was deliberately blurred to remind you what happens when you are out of focus.

The scene just does not look right, correct?

But what about your life focus? Is it like this photo? Or is it nice and sharp?

Let’s take a moment to consider what would happen in your life and mine if our life vision is not clear and focused:

1. If you are not focused on where you are going in life, how can you set appropriate goals and strategies to get there? An interesting question no?

Goals and strategies are very important, BUT before you create the road map you need to define your destination.

  • Where are you going in life?
  • What is your why? (link leads to a CD). (Your life passion).

2. If you are not clear on your why (your life purpose), how do you know which direction to walk in? This is why so many people are simply going around in circles. They have no vision.

I am sure you know what dog paddling is right? It is simply beating the water to stay afloat, but going nowhere.

All the energy is used up in simply keeping your head above water.

How many people do you know who are living life in this way? But this is NOT for you! You are a champion!

Do make sure you take some time to make sure you have a clear vision of your WHY in life. (This book and tape is a GREAT practical resource that will help you to discover your why).

3. How will you recognize your life purpose
when you reach it, if you don’t know what it looks like?

When a photo is blurred it is often hard to even see what it is right? If your life purpose and passion is not clear (your why), do you think you would recognize it when you reach it?

Today’s questions:

  • Is your why (your life purpose and passion) crystal clear in your mind?
  • Are you focused on creating strategies and plans to fulfill your why?
  • Are you moving forward each and every day towards achieving your life goals? (You can only successfully do that when you have a clear vision of your why.

Action:

  • Take some time to make sure your why is crystal clear in your mind.
  • Visualize your goals and dreams both in your mind AND in your surroundings (dream or vision board).
  • Take a step forward EVERY day and you WILL reach your dreams!

A favorite quote from a great man of God, Oral Roberts:

You can’t go under for going over!

JillIs your vision sharp today? Or do you need to focus your lens?
