What is the normal (untrained) human reaction to life’s challenges and changes? Resignation right?

How often do you hear someone say:

Oh well, we will just have to get used to it or

Well life is like that at times or even

Well at least it is not for ever.

These are all reactions of resignation. I am sure you have heard these comments or similar ones many times.

Of course YOU have never said anything like that right? I didn’t think so.

Resignation is a trap. It is a very negative reaction because when you resign yourself to a situation, you have actually given in and usually also given up.

But giving up is never the reaction of a champion!

Champions are always actively looking for resolutions.

Denis Waitley said:

“There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.” –

A friend down in Mexico always used to say:

Every problem has a solution.

Champions always accept the responsibility for changing conditions. They are never content to sit down and accept them. They know that every problem has a solution and so their reaction to every situations is focus on resolutions.

I know you are a champion!

So here is my question today: Are you accepting situations that are pulling you away from your dreams? Or are you looking for solutions.

Resignation or resolution – which is your choice today?

This morning I was listening to John Di Lemme talking about building our belief or fear systems.

After listening to the recording, I continued to meditate on this reality and came to some conclusions.

Yesterday late afternoon, I went down to the “Quebrada” in Acapulco to enjoy the sea air. The waves were a little more fierce than I have seen them so far during this trip to Acapulco. I took so photos for you to see (I love to take photos).

Life is full of daily challenges, decisions and reactions (or responses – your choice). Some days the sea of life may be calm for a season, other days the waves may come crashing in.

However your day is, YOU have the choice as to how you will react or respond. Consequently you choose to build your mindset or faith or allow fear to destroy you belief system.

Many daily habits are unconscious. You and I often react to situations without thinking. These are the spontaneous reactions that come out of your mindset (or mental structures).

Your positive mindset is formed (or destroyed) by every decision you make every day.

Your positive mindset is also formed (or destroyed) by every reaction you have towards the events of each day.

How come a reaction affects your mindset? Every react is a decision (often a spontaneous one). It comes from your mindset. In the same way that every time you use a physical muscle you strengthen it, every time you use a mind muscle you strengthen it.

This means that every time you reinforce a decision or reaction by USING it, you strengthen it.

How to make sure you are creating a strong mindset of faith.
Determine to become aware of every decision and every reaction you make each day. To do this you will need: Discipline and Focus.

Determine that you will change ALL negative reactions or decisions that you detect. Changing your habits and belief system (mindset) is YOUR choice.

Determine to deliberately focus your daily decisions and reactions towards constructing a solid mindset of faith. To do this you will be to focus! Be alert to take note of what you are doing, saying and thinking. Then you can change each and every negative response you catch yourself making.

Deliberate, focused, daily action will enable you to build a strong faith mindset.

“When you live in reaction, you give your power away. Then you get to experience what you gave your power to.” -N. Smith

This is a very powerful truth!

Champions are winners! They do not react to life’s situations. They act, take control and win over any obstacle that comes their way. You are a champion!

When you react to a situation in life you have already lost ground. The book of Proverbs in the Bible is full of exhortations to this effect. Do not put yourself on the enemy’s ground is the constant exhortation expressed in many different ways.

It is a well known fact that if you plan on winning an argument with someone, you want that person to come to your territory (your house – the territory that YOU own). That gives you an advantage right?

The next best thing is to meet with them on uncommon ground right? You certainly don’t want to go over to their house (their territory) for a confrontation! That would give you the disadvantage.

We are fully aware of that principle, but here’s one we sometimes forget:

Self control is the secret to keeping your advantage
(your power) in a situation.

When you are in control of yourself, you have a good chance of being in control of the situation, no matter what may be happening.

The moment you react, you weaken your self control, give power to the situation (instead of your keeping power OVER the situation) and a downward spiral will usually start.

Negative thoughts come flooding into your mind.

Negative words come flooding out of your mouth (words you may regret later).

Negative reactions come flooding against you.

Do I need to say more? When you lose control of yourself and REACT (not act), you put yourself on the losing track right?

But you are a champion! What I have described here is not a picture of your life right?

A difficult situation arises, yet no matter how much it may impact or hurt you, you have already made a decision. You are a champion. You have decided to act in life, not react.

This decision is a daily decision, made BEFORE anything happens.

Once you have your brain trained to act not react, it will be natural to follow this pattern when facing a difficult situation, a disappointment or failure.

So you take a deep breath, say nothing until you are in complete control (of yourself!). Now your mind will be clear and you are in a position of control. Your mind is free to be creative and come up with solutions.

Stay in control of yourself! You will find life so much less complicated. Your mind will be free from confusion and all of the other negative attitudes that only lead to defeat.

You are a champion! Speak life a champion, live like a champion and ACT like a champion.

Stay in control! Don’t give away your power!
