27 Aug 2010 What To Do When You Mess Up

Broken WindowWe all “mess up” at times right? That is a part of being human.

The real issue is not really:

Do you make mistakes?

but rather:

What do you do when you “mess up”?

The other day I visited Barns and Noble, which is a regular habit of mine. That day though I actually went to pick up something from the Office Depot next door and of course I could not miss the opportunity to see what was new in my favorite bookstore :)

One book jumped out at me, written by Larry Winget. It’s title says:

I guess that would catch your attention too right?

Well that was the book of the day to read as I savored some Starbucks coffee. It is an easy read, straight shooting book full of rich content, so it went home with me.

It was in this book I found a simple three step practical solution to follow when you “mess up”.

  • Face it
  • Fix It
  • Move on

Well that’s easy enough right?

The big problem is we make a camping ground of our mistakes (or those around us do as they won’t let us forget). Knowing that we may be reminded of our errors we may even be tempted to try and hide them. Of course they don’t get fixed that way.

The best way to get out of a mess IS:

Face it - it happened. You can’t unscramble eggs right?
You did it whether you meant to or not. So no excuses required.

Fix it - there is always a solution. Every problem has a solution.
Use your energy on looking for the solution, not in wallowing in regret.

Move on – maybe here we could say: Shake it off!
Don’t camp there. There’s more life to live! So don’t take this weight with you. You faced it and fixed it now leave it!

So what can you do when you mess up? Follow Larry Winget’s advice, its good.

JillFace it, fix it, move on. Live life to the fullest!

This makes me sick

P.S. I am sure you would enjoy reading some of Larry’s writing, so here is one of his ebooks. Take a look right now.

18 Aug 2010 Interesting Historical Fact Today
 |  Topic: Words  | Tags: , , , ,  | Leave a Comment

IBirth Certificate have an app on my cell phone that gives me 3-4 short headlines on “Today in History”.

Today in History was especially interesting. On August 18th, 1587 Virginia Date became the first child of English parents born in North America. The first English/American :)

Ok, so that what was a significant birth, but what does it have to do with you?

Did you know that YOUR birth is VERY significant?

Yes, your birth certificate is the only proof you need to claim your right as a champion!!

That’s right, the fact that you are on this earth today means you won your first race BEFORE you even arrived here. I am sure you know the biological reasoning that proves this claim.

You arrived ahead of millions of others to join the sperm and your prize? You were born into this world.

But now the question is: Are you continuing to train as a champion, so as to continue winning? Or have you broken the winning streak by listening to and believing a bunch of negative words and influences around you?

If you do not KNOW you are a champion, chances are you have been listening to too many of those negative words.

I highly recommend you read, no not read DEVOUR a small but rich book called:

Champions Are Born, Losers Are Made.

I very very rarely actually write about and recommend anything on this blog (as you may have noticed if you have been visiting this corner of the web) However this book is a winner and an absolute “must read”. And better yet, it is written by someone I have met, spoken with eye to eye and gone to church with. I trust him! (And I don’t trust easily).

So please do yourself a favor and check out this book. Your life will take a major turn upwards after spending some time devouring its contents.

This book will help you change YOUR life history from mediocre (or even from defeated and fearful) to triumphant and full of faith!.

JillNever forget – You ARE a champion!

P.S. The FTC and I want you to know there are links in this post. Should some of those links be clicked and sales result, your blogger would be fairly compensated and so be able to continue offering you free content on a regular basis. I do only link to products I REALLY believe in. (But this of course is my opinion and taste). Hence I still expect you to do your due diligence when conducting affairs online or offline. Do business only with those you trust implicitly.
