21 Jul 2010 What Does TODAY Mean To You?

Sunrise over Haughley SuffolkEvery morning you wake up to a new day.

What does that mean to you?

What is the first thing that you do when you wake up?

Yesterday I was listening to a teleconference and heard John Di Lemme make this statement:

What you do with the first two hours of your day sets the pace for the day.

Each day offers a new beginning, an opportunity to discover new things, and to see God work new miracles in your life.

BUT there is a catch!
What is this catch? Every day is like a present.

  • You need to open a present in order to discover what it is. You need to open up each day to discover what new things are waiting for you to learn and experience.
  • You need to be alert and expect to see the miracles that God has for you. God works with FAITH (positive expectancy).

How many times I hear people around me use this phrase when asked how they are: “Same old”. Where is the expectancy and faith in that comment?

Well actually it is a negative focus that is directed at expecting nothing new. So what do these folk get? Nothing new! Are they alert to discover, learn and experience new things? No!

So how can you make sure that you receive everything that each new day is offering you?

Here is a plan that would change your life:

  1. Wake up to read you WHY. Do you have your WHY written down? Your why is the reason you are on this earth. It involves making a difference in this world in the area of your passion and calling.
  2. Spend the first minutes of your day declaring affirmations that are in line with your WHY and your dreams.
  3. Pick up your Bible and read a chapter from the book of Proverbs, Psalms or the Gospels. If you are following a plan to read the Bible in a year, then continue with this plan.

Stop and think about what you are reading. Write down a key thought that stands out to you.

  4. Now that your mind will be more focused and alert, take a look at the plan your created the evening before. What are the most important items? (They will be on the top of your list).

Start working on number 1 on your list as soon as breakfast is over.

  5. If you are following a workout program, insert this in the order of your routine. If you are not, at least take a walk after breakfast. There is nothing like physical exercise to clear your mind and get the brain focus and ready for action.

What would happen to your life if you followed a plan similar to this every day for 30 days? I am sure you would discover some transformations!

What if you have to start out early in the morning for work? I sometimes do. Those days I take out my cell phone while I am waiting on the bus at 4.30am in the morning, surf over to 210 Affirmations to Guarantee 2010 to be your greatest year ever.

Then I spend those waiting moments making the affirmations mine by declaring them out loud. This definitely makes a difference to my day.

JillHow are you spending the first two hours of each day? Do you EXPECT to discover or learn something new and to see miracles EVERY day?

09 Jul 2010 The Winner’s Secret

I won!If you were asked to give just one main secret to the success of a winner, what would your answer be?

You might actually have more than one answer to this question.

Indeed there are several that would definitely be qualities that all winners have.

Things like:

  • A winner has a mindset that is focused on his goals and dreams. (Absolutely true)
  • A winner is someone who is always focused on conquering. (Absolutely)
  • A winner always focuses on solutions instead of problems. A winner sees problems as an opportunity for another victory. (Oh yes!)

There are all great descriptions of a winner right?

A couple of days ago I was scanning one of my lists in my twitter feed. The list in question has the title: Motivational. There I spotted an interesting comment made by Aimee Pilz from Texas.

The comment said:

The safe answer may not be the answer that drastically changes your life.

This is quite a statement no? It takes a winner to look for and follow the “not so safe” answer does it not?

Winners are always stepping out into new territory. Rarely if ever do they take the easy path in a solution. Why?

Because the challenging path will lead to new victories and new heights. In short, the challenging path will lead to growth.

My conclusion today
is that one of the strongest characteristics of a winner is that they are always stepping out of their comfort zone into new territory. What do you think?

Consequently their lives are constantly changing (for the better) because they dare to step out and conquer.

Of course the three characteristics listed above (and others) are also an integral part of their lives. Without these qualities they would not have the courage to seek the challenges right?

What do you think?

Are you a winner? Are you always quick to step out of your comfort zone? (Or perhaps you may be a little slow, but you do it anyway).

Remember:
JillThe safe answer may not be the answer that drastically changes your life. What does that say to you today?
