22 May 2010 When There Is No Way Out

Caged inWhat do you do when you find yourself cornered into a difficult situation where there seems to be no way out?

Obstacles are a part of life, especially for those who have decided to take action and pursue their dreams and life purpose.

There is a purpose for you inside of the most difficult situation, even though it may seem there is no way out.

Every obstacle offers you the opportunity to show your earnestness, determination and relentlessness in your pursuit of your dreams.

  • How much do you REALLY want to achieve your dreams?
  • Are you prepared to achieve them at any cost?
  • Tony Robbins is quoted as saying: “Those who are relentless find a way”.

Finding your way out of a difficult situation can only strengthen your determination, character and your vision. The result will always be growth!

The dictionary defines the word relentless as “not to be appeased by treaty, grim determination, not to be placated – showing no signs of slackening or yielding in one’s purpose.”

Now that is determination personified right?

“Not to be appeased by treaty” No one and nothing can talk you out of your pursuit or offer you anything that will distract you.

Remember the English sport of Fox Hunting. The fox hound is trained to stay FOCUSED on the fox. Even though a juicy rabbit may cross it’s path while it is pursing the fox, a well trained hound will NOT be distracted.

“Grim determination” This is a phrase that is used to describe a laser focused determination. This is certainly the kind of determination that the fox hound displays. It CANNOT be distracted nor can it be discouraged!

Not to be placated. No one can change your mind about your goals. They may seem impossible to those around you. People may scoff, and try to lower you to their “reason”, especially when you are facing an obstacle that may seem impossible to overcome.

But you will not listen to reason. You will only listen to your dream!

Showing no signs of slackening or yielding in one’s purpose. You are tireless with no signs of giving up.

So many people give up just a few days, hours or worse still – minutes before they could have achieved victory! But you are not one of those! You are a tireless champion who WILL achieve the success you are aiming at.

How you react or act when obstacles cross your path will prove just how strong your desire to achieve your dreams really is.

JillHow relentless are you in the pursuit of your dreams?

02 Mar 2010 What You May Miss When Your Awareness Is Not Sharp

Yesterday I mentioned that I made a list of some things that you and I may miss out on when we are not fully aware of what is happening around us.

I focused on just one of the items on this list in yesterdays article – “relationships”.

Today I decided to share the rest of the list with you and as I share this, I am also challenging you to action.

Here’s what I would like you to do:

Read through the list below – then:

  • Pick one item that stands out to you and write it down in your journal.
  • Now write some notes about this opportunity, blessing or experience you could miss if you are not alert.
  • A question to help you with your notes:
How will it affect your life when you sharpen your awareness and you DON’T miss it?

Ok – here is the list:

Things we may not recognize when we are distracted and not alert:

Opportunities - so often the miracle that you are waiting for and believing for comes in the form of an opportunity. You need to seize the opportunity and follow through.

How would it affect your life if you are not even aware of this opportunity?

Provision - this is another kind of miracle that you may be hoping, believing and waiting for. But rarely do these miracles come to our lives in the exact way that we expect them to. This means you have to be alert to recognize it.

What would happen if you missed it?

People’s worth - we looked at this one yesterday. It is all about recognizing who people REALLY are. This could also involve discovering their true value and worth as a human being. This could bring great blessing to your life.

If you don’t take the time to see the value of the people in your life – what could you miss?

Things we could miss out on if we are not alert to the things and people around us.

New experiences – A lot of new experiences come your way through connections with people. You need to be alert when these people cross our path.

Blessings – how many times does God intervene in our lives to protect us and we don’t know it. Sometimes if we were more alert we might notice it. Would that not be a blessing and a boost to our faith?

Achieving goals - Dr Mike Murdock made this statement when I was watching his program this past Sunday

“you are one person away from achieving your goal”

He was referring to a key person of course:

  • a person who may be just the right business partner who has skills you lack.
  • a person who may be looking for a business to invest in and you have the plan and the skills.
  • a person who may be able to open a door for you to step into the next phase of your life.
And if you missed this person because you did not recognize them? (What could you miss out on).

Now the objective of this exercise is not to look to the past and stay there with regrets – NO.
The objective is to learn to become more aware of our lives, the people that cross our paths and the experiences we meet with every day.

So my decision today is:

I will seize every opportunity, provision and blessing that comes my way.
JillI will take more notice of the people who cross my path, and discover their true value.

What is your decision?
