How many times have you heard it said: My, how time flies!

Yes we are already almost halfway through the first month of 2011.

What does this mean to you?

Here is what it means to me — Life is too short to spend it:

Waiting on opportunities.
I have decided to learn to stay more focused and alert to create what comes my way into the opportunities that will lead me to fulfill my goals and dreams.

Going around in circles, because I did not learn the lesson the first time.
I have decided to learn the first time! This means being more alert and sensitive to people, things and my surroundings.

Enough is enough! The success overflow has begun in my life NOW (Quote from John Di Lemme’s 210 Affirmation Challenge.)

Wasting time with the petty things of life.
I think we have all found ourselves tripping up with petty arguments, circumstances we worried about needlessly etc. It is time to put those things aside and focus on the IMPORTANT things in life.

Here is a great decision to make:
I respect my time and I refuse to waste it – Quote from John Di Lemme’s 210 Affirmation Challenge.

The first 14 days of this year, I have spent reading more (my first book this year was Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best – wonderful book!), meditating more (on the Bible, God and the seed of destiny He has placed in my heart, which is also known as my WHY), and making firm plans and decisions for the days ahead.

I am determined to make the very most of every second of this year, 2011. And no, you don’t have to wait until Dec 31st of any given year to make plans, decisions and resolutions. You can resolve (decide) to change anything in your life NOW, no matter what the date is!

EVERY day is a new day, waiting for your decisions,
your words and your actions.

One of the 17 tips that most stood out to me was:

Fear is a developed habit.

I was studying a book about Accelerated Education when I visited my sister last year, and there I came across an interesting statistic. It was reported that Jack Canfield once sent a team of researchers out to accompany 100 school children for a whole day. They were asked to note every negative and positive statement or comment that were spoken by these youngsters. Here are the astounding results:

The average positive comments spoken were 72 while

The average negative comments spoken were 684!

How could this happen?
A very high percentage of the words that surround you and I every day are predominantly negative. The children mentioned above were repeating what they were hearing AND at the same time, they were developing habits.

What kind of habits? Habits of speaking negatively.

Your daily habits are developed by what you think,
what you decide and what you do.

Because of the multitudes of negative words that surround you every day, if you are not making a conscious effort to think, decide and act positively, the habits you are developing will be negative ones.

This means that if you are not making a conscious effort every day to think, speak, decide and act in faith, you will by default be developing a habit of fear.

Mm, could this be true? Yes because the default attitude in this world is fear!

First two steps to take you from fear to faith:

Recognize that your decision to create a faith habit is a decision to enter into a battle.

Why? Because you are deciding to go against the main flow of this world.

Make a firm decision that you WILL fight against all fear and negative words by developing faith habits.

The best way to change a wrong habit is by developing a right one.

Three daily steps to turn fear into faith.

Read and watch good strong motivational and inspirational teachings every day.

Make declarations and affirmations of faith that are targeted at the areas of your life where you discover there is fear.

Make affirmations of faith targeted at your dreams and goals.

Above all – ACT in faith.
Make notes on everything motivational that you read and watch and act on them. Do what you are affirming and declaring.

Faith words – faith decisions – faith ACTIONS – create your faith habits.

John Maxwell.

Yours and my thinking process is influenced by three main areas: Words – Decisions – Mindset.

Words:
Last year I was studying a book about “Accelerated Education” and came across a very interesting story.

Jack Canfield once sent a team of researchers out to accompany 100 school children for a whole day. They were asked to note every negative and positive statement or comment that were spoken by these youngsters. Here are the astounding results:

    * The average positive comments spoken were 72 while
* The average negative comments spoken were 684!

So the conclusion is that you and I grew up hearing a LOT more negative words than we heard positive words.

Consequently you spoke and thought more negative words, and this caused your thinking process to become a liability in your life.

However because you are reading this, I know that you have already declared war on all negative words and thoughts in your life. You are already on the road to turning what was a liability into an asset.

Decisions:
Every experience in life causes you and I to make a decision. Our decisions are greatly influenced by our mindset or the framework of our minds.

This can be a vicious circle because every new decision either reinforces your mindset or challenges it. It is always easier to “go with the flow” and allow yourself to reinforce the framework already built in your mind.

However you DO have the ability to make new decisions which may challenge and even start to rebuild the existing framework in your mind.

This does take effort and is the reason that so many people give up and allow their lives to continue on the same old track.

Mindset:
When you discover negative tendencies in your thinking process and make a strong decision to change that you have declared war on your old mindset.

At the same time, you have used the strength of your will to decide you CAN and WILL change your thinking process so that it will become your greatest asset.

The strength you need to make this decision every day and follow through with it will be greatly supported by your daily diet of what you read, listen to and hear.

Every day you will decide to build your new mindset by what you allow to enter the gateways of your life (your five senses).

As you face life’s experiences resolved to stay positive, speak and think positive words and always look for solutions not problems you are making decisions that will change your mindset.

You are rebuilding the framework of your mind (or mindset) that will allow you to build a life of abundance.
