18 Oct 2010 New Topics Of Interest On This Blog

During the past week I have been reviewing this blog and thinking about this and my other blogs. I have come to a decision which I am sure you will like.

This is my personal blog, written from my personal Learning journal where I share things that I learn every day. I do spend a lot of my time studying areas of personal development, leadership and success principles as well Bible studies. I love to study Bible personalities and complete Bible books (especially from the New Testament).

I do have blogs that are dedicated to Personal Development:
Mindset For Living (mindsetforliving.com) is dedicated to articles on how to create a positive mindset.

The theme is:

A Positive Mindset For Positive Living – Change Your Mind, Change Your Life

KiwichampKiwichamp.com is a blog that was started in 2008, and there I am sharing studies about Bible Personalities, Personal Development for Christians as well as the story of my first years on the mission field. The central theme of Kiwichamp is:

Personal Development God’s Way

I invite you to visit these blogs also, and subscribe to the one(s) that interest you.

I would love to see you there and invite you to share your thoughts and experiences on these blogs as well as here. I would love to hear from you.

My Other Interests:

This week as I was reviewing this blog I decided that because I am writing from my learning journal, it would be good to blog about some of my other areas of interest here too.

These areas include health, natural solutions to health issues, photography, finances (I have a strong interest in the Forex Market), technology (yep I am a bit of a “Geek”). I don’t have too much time to spend in the techie area, but those new toys that keep coming on the market DO fascinate me too :)

I also like little dogs (I may get another one. Sadly my last dog was killed by a car. That took some getting over.)

When there is time, I also like to work with WordPress, html a little php and some other areas of coding.

Jill RapleyYou may also find an article or two about travel, culture, brain science or learning techniques, You may also find some snippets of world news, interesting historical facts (from today in history).

Then there will be articles about music (especially jazz and easy listening), my daily adventures or even teddy bears (yep I am a collector) – in fact – this blog is about to turn into the theme:

Life Through The Eyes of Jill Rapley.

I trust you will enjoy the new expanded theme of this blog and please do come and join in the fun and share some of your life experiences too.

I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you here as well as on Facebook and Twitter.

06 Aug 2010 Your Habits Are Here To Stay

Daily habitsThis phrase has been repeating itself in my mind for the past 2 days. Yes, it is true. Your habits are here to stay, UNLESS:

You decide you don’t want them to stay. Yes, once again it is all about personal responsibility. In fact the very first key to all personal development is to accept personal responsibility.

You cannot change something that you do not own right?

This brings us to the next point:
You decide you WANT to (and WILL) change these habits you don’t like.

But wait, have we not already made this point?

No. Why?
It is one thing to decide you don’t like a habit in your life. It is another thing to decide you WANT to and WILL change it.

How many times have you and I put up with things in our lives that we don’t like? Right!

So it is not enough to decide you don’t like a habit. You need to move further and actually make up your mind that you WILL change it.

WHEN?
Ok, so when are you going to start changing this habit? NOW is the best time to start! (In other words strike while the iron is hot :)

HOW?
The very best way change any bad habit is to replace it with a good one. This keeps your focus on the good habit you are forming, not on the bad one you are leaving behind.

Warning:
This IS going to take work, time and patience. The bad habit was not formed over night. The new one will not be formed instantly either.

It will take daily ACTION with:

  • Determination.
  • Discipline.
  • Diligence.

There is a prize! What is the prize? A changed life with new habits!

  • Keep your eye on the prize and you will be able to do it!
  • Keep your mind on the benefits that your new habits will bring to your life (better health, better production, clearer mind etc).

Visualize what your life will be like with these new habits every day, as you work towards forming them.

JillBefore you know it you will be enjoying life with some brand new habits!
