Decide what you want the most in life. Write out how you are going to achieve this and don’t allow anything or anyone to stop you from achieving your goals. Henry Kaiser.
This may sound rather simplified, but it is actually the basic key to success. As simple as it may sound though when you actually start trying to decide what you want the most in life, it may be that your real desire is so buried that you are not sure.
What can bury your life purpose?
- Life’s pressures
- The busyness of life.
- Distractions (some distractions may even be good ones, but sometimes we need to choose between what is good and what is the BEST).
I know it has taken me a while to wade through the onslaughts that life threw at me in recent years. But life is short, and you and I are here on this planet for a very special reason. You have a special purpose to fulfill that no one else can fulfill.
Recently I have been rediscovering and reinforcing my purpose in life – my WHY. It is essential to take time to do this, otherwise you will find that life can slip away so fast because of:
- Life’s pressures.
- The busyness of life.
- Distractions.
The only way to stop life from slipping away is to FOCUS.
But focus on what?
Focus on your WHY.
Focus on the real reason you are here on this planet. Believe me there is absolutely nothing in this world as satisfying as knowing that you are fulfilling your real purpose. When you are working towards fulfilling your why and your dreams, life takes on a new meaning.
Every day you have something to look forward to AND to work towards, as you follow your goals that are leading to achieving your WHY.
You are doing something you REALLY want to do.
This is the key: no matter how hard you have to work to achieve your why, you are actually doing something you WANT to do. And that makes all the difference.
How do you find your why?
In a nutshell, here is the easiest way (although this may take some time to think about). Answer the following question as honestly as you know how, and take as much time as you need to fully answer it.
Once you answer this question as honestly as you know how – you have found your why.
Now write out a set of goals that will lead you to achieve your life purpose (or your why).
