Goal achievedHave you found that in the busyness and even stress of daily life, you can sometimes lose sight of your vision if you are not careful?

The reason for this is that there is an enemy roaming around who is always looking for an opportunity to steal your vision and your dreams.

Just as soon as you take your eyes off of your vision, your mind is left vulnerable to the negative forces of the enemy who loves to plant seeds of fear wherever and whenever he can.

There is an interesting Bible verse in the book of 1 Peter 5:8

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

When you hear word “sober”, usually the very first image that comes into your mind is of someone who is free from the influences of alcohol. However the full meaning of the word sober is simply to be free from influence.

Influence of what? Of anything that contaminates your life and allows seeds of fear to enter. Anything that diverts your focus and distracts you from pursuing your life’s purpose and dreams could be certainly be called an influence.

What sort of things can contaminate your life?

There are TWO main “contaminators” that can destroy your life and these breed a host of negative attitudes and influences in your heart and mind.

The first “contaminator” is the lack of forgiveness which results in a heart full of resentment, anger and bitterness.

The second “contaminator” is fear. John Di Lemme is often heard referring to fear as the “fear flu”, and it is certainly like a flu. Fear will certainly destroy your life and your dreams if you allow it to stay in your life.

Both of these attitudes are often hidden in your heart without your really recognizing their existence. But their influence is nevertheless destroying your life.

  • When these attitudes are present, your vision will be clouded by the constant war in your mind.
  • When your vision is lost, your mind will by default play the reruns from your past, over and over again.
  • When your mind replays and dwells on your past, your vision for your future will get dimmer and dimmer.
If you don’t have a vision for your future, your mind will replay your past. Dr. Mike Murdock.

Hi Jill. This is my first time stopping by your blog……….and your post has got my weekend off to a great start. I feel that so many of us can easily lose sight of our vision……..simply by distractions that come up in our personal lives. The one thing that drives me is……….when things pop up in my path that has the potential to get me off track……i remind myself that the situation is only temporary and as long as my vision is stronger than my distractions……..I always get back on track!

Thanks Jill. I look forward to your future post……and i will be sure to share this with my friends.

    Have a great weekend,

    Antoine Grant

    Hello Antoine

Thank you so much for your comments. So glad your weekend got off to a great start!

I love your participation. Yes distractions are one of the big things that the enemy of our dreams uses. That is why many never reach their goals. They allow themselves to be distracted too often.

    Stay focused champion!!

    Jill
